His presentations are
very spontaneous with active participation from the young people.
“When I put music to a child’s words; eyes light up.
This is a wonderful way to encourage writing and reading while building
a child’s confidence.” says Beard.
An avid songwriter, Beard has also co-written songs
with other artists such as Deborah Allen, Garland Craft and Fred
Satterfield. He co-wrote a song entitled Every Moment Counts with
Indiana educator, Linda Miller. This song was highlighted at the
Indiana Department of Education 1998 December Conference. It is
a song that continues to be featured in conferences and schools
across the nation. Recognized for his dedication to promoting reading
and writing, Beard was recently presented with the 2002 Excellence
in Reading Award from the Indiana State Reading Association. Beard
was the recipient of the Wabash Valley IRA 2001 Excellence in Reading
Award.
Randy Beard, Educator, Musician, Writer, grew up
in southern Indiana. He received his B.S. degree in Elementary Education
from Indiana University. He is the owner of SAR Productions in Newburgh,
Indiana as well as having worked as a partner in R.R.F. Publishing
and R.R.F. Productions in Nashville, Tennessee with Raymond Hicks
and Fred Satterfield.
Randy is married to Renee and has two daughters,
Amy and Sally. They currently reside in Newburgh, Indiana.
